This exciting three day festival, August 14-17, 2018, will showcase over 25 concerts at various venues throughout Smithers, BC. The Spirit of the North Classical Music Festival is particularly special because it features performers from our community and region, as well as a number of renowned guest musicians who share a professional or personal connection to northern BC. This innovative and vibrant event provides opportunities for northerners to hear world-class musicians, full orchestras, new compositions, chamber music masterworks, and much more, in settings ranging from free, family-friendly outdoor spaces to more formal concert stages. ![]() This world-class festival is a so valuable up in Smithers because it allows us to experience the artistic excellence of the north, strengthens networks between our communities, and opens avenues of exploring our identity as people and northerners.
